If you're a candy crusher, you may notice there's a lot of different vocabulary that goes into this game and maybe there are terms you didn't even know! We put together a list of Candy Crush vocab!
1. Clear (verb)
A clear is technically when you make a combination of 3-or-more candies but Candy Crushers tend to use it more to mean when you activate a special candy or take out a blocker.
2. Cascade Effect (noun)
This term refers to the effect of making moves lower on your board. Since new candies drop from the top of a Candy Crush board, sometimes combinations can be formed and cleared from the new candies. The cascade effect is a useful tool in levels where there aren't many moves.
3. Activate (verb)
Special candies are activated in the game of candy crush. This means that while the candy may be on your board, it hasn't been \"activated\" yet. You activate a special candy by forming a combination with it.
4. Crushing It (verb)
When talking with your Candy Crush friends, it's okay to want to brag (after all, you defeated level 181 only on your second try). When you do exceptionally well on a level, you crush it!
5. Nerfed (verb)
Nerfed is actually a term used in video games but Candy Crushers have been adopting it for the last year. You may have seen a guide describe a \"nerfed level,\" which means that King.com decided to make the level easier to pass. Levels like 33 and 135, which used to take weeks to pass, were nerfed in late 2013.
6. Color Bombs (noun)
Possibly one of the most misnamed items in all of Candy Crush! This special candy, which is totally the best one, has been called a lot of different things! We've heard terms from freckle candy, sprinkle candy to chocolate bomb! It turns out the official name of this powerful special candy is Color Bomb.
7. Meringues (noun)
You know those white frosted blockers you see in some levels? Some people call them whipped cream, other people call them frosting, it's never really clear what delicious treat they are. Well, it turns out, these are meringues. We won't blame you if you keep calling them whipped cream though.
So! Do you use any of Candy Crush vocabulary? Are any new to you?
