Every blocker in Candy Crush Saga — what it does, when it appears, and how to destroy it.

Chocolate

First appears: Level 51

High threat

Spreads every turn you don't match next to it. Can consume the entire board if ignored.

Strategy: Match adjacent to chocolate EVERY turn. Striped candies are your best weapon — they clear an entire row/column at once. Containment first, then clear the rest.

Licorice

First appears: Level 81

Medium threat

Licorice swirls block special candy effects and must be matched next to in order to clear.

Strategy: Wrapped candies explode in a 3x3 area and are especially effective. Prioritize clearing licorice that blocks your objective path.

Bombs

First appears: Level 96

Critical threat

Ticking time bombs that end your game instantly if the countdown reaches zero.

Strategy: ALWAYS prioritize bombs. Use Lollipop Hammer as last resort. Special candy combos (Color Bomb + Striped) can clear multiple at once. Track countdown numbers!

Icing

First appears: Level 11

Low threat

Frozen squares that must be hit by adjacent matches. Multi-layer icing needs multiple hits.

Strategy: Work from outside in. Striped candies aimed at icing rows are very efficient. Double-layer icing needs two hits — plan combos to sweep the same area twice.

Marmalade

First appears: Level 206

Medium threat

Locks a candy inside. Match the locked candy or hit it with a special candy to free it.

Strategy: If a special candy is locked in marmalade, free it first — those are powerful tools. Color Bombs can match locked candies directly.

🎂

Cake Bombs

First appears: Level 366

High threat

Giant 2x2 blocks that need multiple hits to destroy. Very resilient.

Strategy: Combine special candies near cake bombs. Wrapped + Striped combos deal massive area damage. Focus fire on one cake bomb at a time.

🔒

Liquorice Locks

First appears: Level 221

Medium threat

Locks candies in place so they can't be swapped. Must match adjacent to unlock.

Strategy: Clear locks near your objective first. Locked candies can still be part of matches — they just can't be moved. Special candies ignore locks.

Sugar Chests

First appears: Level 486

Medium threat

Multi-layered containers that hide candy colors. Need special keys or multiple matches to open.

Strategy: Collect keys first when possible. If no keys, treat them like multi-layer icing — plan to hit the same spot multiple times with special candies.
