Clear bombs first.

Make sure you clear the bomb in the center of the board first. Then when more bombs start falling you need to focus on eliminating them before they explode. The bombs in level 98 will explode in only 8 moves, and if you have not cleared them by then you will fail the level before you can even try to reach the target goal.

Next clear the licorice.

Clearing the licorice xs and releasing the trapped candies will open up more opportunities for you to make high scoring special candies and special candy combos. If you can clear the licorice while making special candies at the same time, those are the best moves to make.

Make special candy combos to score the most points.

Striped candies, wrapped candies, and color bomb s are all good candies to make to reach your target score. Level 98 is a Target Score level, one of five level types in Candy Crush Saga. Your objective is to reach 120,000 points in 40 moves. In order to complete a Target Score level, you will need to reach a minimum target score in a limited number of moves. Target score levels appear in the first episode, Candy Town, and continue to the eleventh episode, Gingerbread Glade. When playing this type of level, you may be faced with other blockers such as, bombs, jelly, and meringue.

How To Beat Target Score Levels:

  • Stay focused. Only make moves that help increase your score. Typically in these types of levels, the move limit is low. If there are blockers or other obstacles standing in your way, make sure that you ignore them and are continuously scanning the board for potential combinations or large matches. Do not waste moves on clearing the boosters or obstacles unless necessary.
  • Look to create special candy combinations. Special candy combinations will help you to use your moves efficiently since they have a higher point value attached to them. When possible, make combinations that include 4+ candies. Also, look to combine two special candies together.
  • Take your time. Since these levels do not have a time limit, make sure that each move you make is the best move. Remember, you are trying to reach a target score, not beat the clock or clear blockers. Continue to look around the board to be sure that each move you make, impacts the score.

If u want free lives do the following. When u are down to no lives 1) go to settings and change the date to the next day 2) open candy crush 3) go back to settings and fix the date to the correct date. 4) ha back to candy crush. You should now have full lives again. Takes about one minute to do.

This level is almost as crappy as level 70. 70 is still the all time worst level. I don't get why it says get 90000 points and nothing about bombs. But the bombs make you fail BS

ok finally just passed it....WTH One time got 150,000 points....had 1 bomb left.....failed level Another time got 105,000 points, had 2 bombs left....passed This game is so messed up

They should just call this a timed level, as you are hurrying around the board to line up your colors to clear off the bombs, that there isn't time to watch for striped and wrapped combos to use for my advantage or to worry about points! The bombs seem to drop faster toward the end, and often no colors nearby to even clear it, and I often have 17 moves left when it takes me out! My biggest beef is the warning message comes up telling me there is a bomb about to explode, and it comes a few seconds early and while it is up you cant even make ANY moves, or try to right the situation. It even blocks most of the board so you cant even see where the hold up is or what the best move would have been. I truly think the KING co. really just wants you to buy more lives or moves. Quickest 5 lives down the drain, and then WAIT for more. Not even fun at this level: its becoming stressful. I quickly became addicted to this game, but I may be moving on to something else!

I agree with Sandy on this. This game is all about getting you to purchase ANYTHING. I refuse to give this company any money. I'm deleting it off my iPhone and will stear clear of The King Co. products !!!

I also got 128,140 points and the game kept going unyil a bomb got me. Then I got 'Level Faild'. No fair!!!

Something this cheat doesn't say is that you have 8 moves to clear the bomb. Not 8 seconds. Once you know that, it's quite easy.

I'm on this page currently as of July 25, 2014. I'm having problems with this level so far, but I know I will get through it. I always do. You just have to be patience.

In this round, you have to attain the set number of points AND use all 40 moves. I've been over the target score several times but still have moves left. Read the instructions when the round starts. It lets you know you have to achieve both tasks. :-(

I enjoyed the game up to this level because , with a few exceptions, the levels were not time limited but still challenging. The bombs have introduced a more stressful element which renders it less fun to play. There are plenty of other games out there.

Level 98- Candy Crush Customer Support: After many attempts, I reached 92,460 with no bombs at all. I fully expected to get a Candy Crush & pass this level since I had more than the required points & NO BOMBS AT ALL. I also had 15 moves left. After waiting for a full minute I continued on & of course lost the level when I timed out on the next bomb. What gives? Apparently it isn't possible to pass this level?!
